Puma Photography in Torres del Paine

A guide who's also a photographer

A photographer guiding photographers

I bought my first camera at fourteen, and ever since, documenting through my lens what my eyes enjoy has become part of my life. Since 2020 I've been coming to Torres del Paine frequently to photograph pumas, and in 2022 I earned my certification as a guide. Today I combine both trades: I guide and photograph at the same time.

That changes the kind of support I can offer. It's not just about knowing where to look, it's about understanding the light, the distance and the moment so your photo comes out well, without ever putting the shot ahead of the animal's wellbeing. For more on the territory and why Torres del Paine allows this kind of photography, see the detail on puma sighting in Torres del Paine.

What the photography support includes

Designed so you can focus on the shot, not the logistics

Photographer guiding photographers

Support from someone who's also after the shot, not just a guide who happens to carry a camera

Private from 1 passenger

No dependence on the pace of a large group or filling a bus

Optical gear included

Spotting scope, mini telescope or binoculars depending on the outing, shared among the group

Ethical sighting

The focus is respectful observation, not chasing the shot at any cost

Never rushing the shot

Every outing moves at the pace nature sets. Sometimes the encounter lasts an instant, other times it turns into minutes of close observation. There's no guaranteed pose or framing, it's a wild animal in its habitat, but there is time, patience, and the support of someone who understands both puma behavior and what you need for your photography.
